Economy Bad? Appliance Parts Sales Good.

The *fix* has been simple for America; when a TV, a PC or a DVD player begins to go bad: buy a new one.
This approach might be coming to a halt as the United States economy nose dives io a possible depression. With appliance sales dipping to lows not seen in years, owners and operators of regional repair shops say they're getting between five percent and thirty percent more business than in 2007.
Don Vlastuin, proprietor of A-Tech Appliance Parts and Service in Springdale, Arkansas, states many individuals are choosing to fix appliances and “just get by with the old one.”
Vlastuin states he’s noticed a ten percent to twenty percent rise in appliance parts sales over the last 8 months, but not a corresponding rise in service requests. “People are trying to fix it themselves,” he said.
